SOARES & SOUZA IS THE BIGGEST BEER EMPORIUM IN BRASÍLIA. LOCATED IN ALL MAIN NEIGHBOURHOODS IN THE CITY, IT HAS OVER 500 LABELS AND SOMMELIERS SO YOU CAN HAVE THE BEST BEER-TASTING EXPERIENCE IMAGINABLE.
But, their logo (below) was taking its toll. It was showing its age and it didn't have the attention-grabbing detail that they were looking for.
While at Norte - Comunicação e Imagem I was in charge of reimagining the visual identity as a whole, starting off by focusing on the most iconic elements, the initials.
Of course, the most important ingredient couldn't be forgotten.
Couldn't do without the kind of place, what they offer, and the date since they were established.
And lastly, it couldn't lose the badge as it was a perfect way to bring everything together.
The inicial red was changed to a deep purple so it would contrast better with the yellow.
Here's the final logo and a couple of colour applications.
After the logo was approved, a series of posters were made to launch the new logo in the stores and to tie everything together. Four icons were made to represented what the experience of going to Empório Soares & Souza is all about.

As always, I worked with my creative partner and genius copywriter,
Pedro Vilanova.
THE BARRIL
"Knowledge is the wisdom's soul. And the only ones who make the right choices are those who gather the most of it. You'll never know when you'll have to use yours and present them at the table. And believe it, everyone will know when you drink from the right source."
THE MUG
"Taste depends on everything: It's part of the moment, the harmony. It depends on personality. But it's far from being something relative.
The mug is half empty of half full? When in doubt, top it off."
THE DIAMOND
"Perfect in every detail, brilliant and seductive. Object of desire for men and women, famous for its packaging while surprising in its many shapes. Especially when it comes in a cold glass. Yes, cold.
Well, what did you think we were talking about?"
THE SWORD
"Swords held high, blades touching, was a musketeers gesture of camaraderie and respect between them. The blade carried the fighters' path, just like a glass full of history and flavour.
So, we toast. It's a question of honour."
Well, this was a great project. It's always wonderful combining two things you love and bringing them together. Hope you've enjoyed my design process.

I’d love to do a similar project for you.
